"Connecting Communities to Health Resources"

The GVAHEC believes that students can have a quality learning experience when working as interdisciplinary teams within underserved communities.  In our community health education center, students assess, identify, develop, and deliver community health education programs and assist community members by linking them to services in the area.  In addition, our community health education centers are equipped to assist individuals with enrollment in the KidsCare Program - the state funded childrens health insurance program.

Currently the GVAHEC operates two health education centers in our region:

GVAHEC@LifeBridge

Our first center was developed in collaboration with  Lifebridge Community Alliance on the campus of the Orangewood church of the Nazarene, and is co-located with a food pantry and a Rio Salado extension campus which offers GED classes.
GVAHEC at Lifebridge is a student run and supported community health education center. The mission of GVAHEC at Lifebridge is to increase health and wellbeing in the community by improving access to health resources, promoting health education, and encouraging healthy behaviors.
